 Good    Vibrations

A GATHERING TO EMBRACE IMAGINATION, SPONTANEITY & THE MAGIC OF CO-CREATION

THE INVITATION

The best part was
never knowing
what would happen next.

Remember sleepovers where you'd make up games on the spot? Where you'd start telling a story and your friend would add to it and suddenly you'd created an entire world?

Where you'd pretend to be different people, play dress-up, inhabit entire characters just for fun? Where nobody was directing it and nobody knew where it was going, and that was exactly what made it magical?

That's what this is.

TONIGHT, WE'RE CHOOSING DIFFERENT

✦ We're gathering to play in the space of  "what if?"

✦ To improvise, co-create, and discover what emerges when we stop controlling.

✦ To follow imagination wherever it leads.

✦ To play pretend, to say "yes, and...", to make up stories, inhabit characters, and see what magic unfolds.

This is a sleepover where we make it up as we go. Where we trust the group flow. Where the best moments are the ones we didn't plan.

Come ready to play. Bring your "yes, and" energy.  Be surprised.

THIS IS FOR YOU

If you're curious what
happens when you stop controlling the outcome.

You don't have to know where this goes. That's the whole point.

✦ You're tired of controlling everything

✦ You want to play without knowing where it's going

✦ You miss the version of yourself who could improvise and imagine without second-guessing

✦ You're curious about what happens when you stop planning and start flowing

✦ You want to co-create something with other women and be surprised by what emerges

WHAT THE NIGHT HOLDS

We don't know exactly what will happen. That's the plan.

Some of what's below will happen. Some of it might not. Something else entirely might emerge instead. That's not a lack of structure, that is the structure. The night unfolds the way the best sleepovers always did: wherever the group goes.

THE OPERATING PRINCIPLE

"Yes, and..."

The only rule of improv that matters tonight. Whatever someone offers (a character, a story, an idea, an unexpected turn) we say yes to it, and add to it. No blocking. No redirecting. No "actually, what if we did..." We build on each other until something we couldn't have planned on our own exists in the room.

MAYBE

Pretend Play & Characters

We inhabit people we're not, just for fun. Not to find ourselves, but to lose ourselves briefly and see what that feels like.

MAYBE

Co-Creative Storytelling

We build a world together, one "yes, and" at a time. Nobody knows the ending. That's what makes it worth telling.

MAYBE

Something Else Entirely

The group decides. The night follows. That's the whole point of this gathering; what gets created when nobody's controlling it.

I. Opening Circle

We set the playful container together. Warm up the "yes, and" muscle. Shake off the planning brain. Arrive in our bodies and in the room before we begin.

II. The Play

Improv exercises, games, co-creative making: the specific shape decided by the group in the room. We follow the energy, not a plan. Mistakes become part of the magic.

III. Closing Reflection

We land. We notice what surprised us. What we made. What it felt like to follow rather than lead. What the group created that none of us could have imagined alone.

THE SPACE WE HOLD

A room where
not knowing is the whole point.

This night runs on trust: in the group, in the process, in what wants to emerge. These are the agreements that make letting go actually possible.

✦ IMAGINATION LEADS THE WAY

There are no wrong answers, no bad ideas. Everything is material.

✦ WE FOLLOW THE ENERGY, NOT A PLAN

What wants to emerge gets to emerge. We trust the group flow.

✦ MISTAKES BECOME PART OF THE MAGIC

The unexpected turns are not problems. They're where it gets interesting.

✦ BEING SOMEONE ELSE IS JUST FOR FUN

We're not "finding ourselves" tonight. We're playing pretend. That's enough.

✦ THE POP-UP RULE

Commit fully to whatever emerges: no apologizing, no playing it safe. If you play small, you redo it with 10x more commitment and ridiculousness. Consider yourself warned.

The Details

DRESS CODE

Playful & Ready to Move

Comfortable, playful, ready to move. Sleepover cozy. You may end up being a pirate, a time traveler, or a dragon: dress for possibility.

WHAT'S PROVIDED

Everything You Need

Sleeping bag, pizza & popcorn, music & good vibes. The experience itself provides everything else.

THE CIRCLE

Ten Women Maximum

Always. Co-creation needs intimacy; a group small enough that everyone's contribution shapes the whole night.

WHAT TO BRING

✦ Your imagination: dust it off if needed. It remembers what to do.

✦ A willingness to not know what's coming, this is the whole practice.

✦ Your "yes, and..." spirit: the only skill required tonight.

✦ Optional: any random objects that spark your creativity. Weird is good.

THE INVITATION

Come play
without knowing.

Come improvise. Come discover what happens when you stop trying to control the outcome and just say "yes, and..." Come be surprised: by the group, by what emerges, and especially by yourself.

The magic isn't planned.
It never was.
That's what made it magic.

P.S. You don't need to be "good at improv" to come. That's not the point. We're not performing. We're playing. There's a difference, and it's the whole difference.

P.P.S. Come ready to be surprised. By the group, by what emerges, and especially by yourself.
